IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS MESSAGE, THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER DATE. IT IS NOT AN ACTUAL CLASS DATE. CALL US FOR DETAILS.
The Maryland Non-Resident Wear and Carry Permit Course is designed for individuals who are not residents of Maryland but wish to obtain a Maryland concealed carry permit. This class provides practical, comprehensive training in a supportive environment, covering topics such as firearm safety, handling, and Maryland's specific laws and regulations.
This 16 hour course requires a valid New York State or New York City Pistol License for enrollment. Included in the session is the required Maryland classroom lecture followed by live fire practice, and then the required Maryland live fire qualification.
This can be completed by both new or experienced shooters, however, you must be familiar with your handgun’s operation and overall firearm safety rules.
After meeting the Maryland qualification requirements, you can then apply online through the Maryland State Police (MSP) portal. The application requires you to provide four references and you must obtain finger printing from a Live Scan vendor, located in Maryland.
The tuition includes ONLY the classroom portion and the live fire qualification. Not included are the application and fingerprinting fees.
Maryland permits are valid for two years plus until the applicant's birth month for the first permit and for three years for renewals. An 8-hour course will be required for renewal of an issued permit with the same live fire requirements. Training certificates are valid for 3 years from course completion.
